Migris celebrates 20 years of operation

In 2025, Migris completed 20 years of operation.

This milestone was celebrated with an informal gathering of some of the key contributors to the company’s success: Wenche, Matthias, Kristian, Are (with the box), Frode and Øyvind (see picture). With the assistance of Henk Kombrink and North Sea C.I.C., all participants became proud recipients of an Exploration box containing rock samples from the Petroleum Systems North Sea. It’s great to have unique samples of the source and reservoir rocks we’ve simulated in numerous studies these last 20 years.

Over the years, many students and employees have contributed to the success of Migris, including Aleksander, Andreas, Chris, David, Inga, Mathias, Niros, Simen, Sofie, Davide and Torstein. We extend our sincere thanks to all of you. We also value our cooperation with Ceetron AS, PGS ASA and Seismic Partner AS in software development projects and multi-client studies.

Our greatest appreciation, however, goes to our oil company clients, whose support has funded many of our developments, research initiatives and geological modelling studies.

Currently, Migris is actively applying its solutions to oil and gas exploration in Norway. Ongoing method development involves pressure modelling and cloud computing for petroleum systems modelling. Through stochastic approaches, we aim to better resolve uncertainties in hydrocarbon migration, including in heavily faulted and structurally complex systems. Stay tuned for more updates later this year.
